So i have been gone for a while...the majority of you who read this know what has been going on with me and i am so grateful all of you have been around through these rough times. A couple weeks back, i lost a good friend of mine. For reasons no one really knows or understands, my friend Carey Johnson, decided to take his life. This whole experience was really hard for everyone who knew him and its finally becoming easier to deal. Carey will never be forgotten and will remain in my heart forever. I love you Carey.
After all of this happened, the other reasons i have been on a blog break is :
1. My computer was broken. Who knows what was wrong with it exactly but i had to have it reformatted and its up and running as good as new!
2. Tests, tests, tests, and more tests. I have had at least 2 tests if not more every week for the last three weeks in a row. I've just been studying my little heart out. It seems to be paying off pretty well, so we'll see how it keeps up.
But, i'm back up and running now! Nothing new has really been going on in my life these days. Just filling my time in between studying (which i'll have you know is putting a cramp in my style) with all the great tv shows that are back on for the fall! I think we are now successfully through two complete episodes of all the major favorites. In case you've missed something, all the shows are online these days so get caught up!! My personal favorites are: Ugly Betty (which i'm thinking would be an excellent halloween costume), Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (a def tear jerker), Prison Break of course, and Pushing Daisies. TGFT (thank god for tivo). Check 'em out for sure!
This school week is going to be short...i had a test today--imagine that--in Phonetics. I think it went pretty well; i should know by the end of the week how i scored. Tomorrow i only have one class, wahoo! So basically im done for the day at 10:50 am! As for Wednesday i only have two of my regular 3 classes and then i'm off the the airport to fly HOME for fall break!!! YIPEEEEEE! I can't wait! I will be home wednesday night sometime and am staying until Sunday afternoon. Somehow my week is already filled up and i havent even gotten home yet. Lunch dates, Chuck E. Cheese with Mariann and my little man, Murray to see the high school friends, time with the fam, playing with my puppies--Pumpkin, Holly, and Millie(!), church, a much needed haircut, and hopefully some shopping! I want to see as many people as possible so hit me up! Its going to be a great week-ender!
But, other than that, nothing is new. Life is pretty good. College is good. Friends are good. Miss you all!
xoxo and see you sooooooon!!

Its a good thing puppies dont impede oil exploration.
Good afternoon everyone! Hope the day is going great. Its been rainy here all day, a day for my rainboots! wahoo! if you still dont have any, you better do yourself a favor! One of these days, you'll thank me. As far as new news goes, i have really have nothing. I have 3 tests next week so i have been doing a ton of studying for that, so not too much time for fun. However, tonight is the night for half price burgers at this really great burger joint across the street from campus. (Dutch's is the name, great burgers and fries is the game) This place is DELICIOUS! I get the same thing every week--a bacon, blue cheese burger with no lettuce. yummy! Come to Fort Worth and i'll take you there! Its one of a kind!
Who watched Jon and Kate plus 8 last night?! You better be raising your hand! It was such a good one! I just cant get enough of those Gosselin's. While i was watching it i was trying to put myself in that position and imagine my family in a tent, in the backyard, in the rain, pretending to have a good time. Boy would that be a sight. One time we went on a camping trip and it was probably the most traumatic experience of my life. (mom, i think you know where this is going. and no its not that subway story. That's another traumatic time in my life all together.)
One time when i was probably 6 or 7, the fam packed up the car and headed to some mountain in the middle of nowhere (i have tried to block out this time in my life as best as possible so the details become a little fuzzy) with a group of family friends who all had kids about the same age as me and my brother. We stayed in tents, ate from those little portable stove things and walked to the out-house to go pee. That was where i thought it hit rock bottom. But, boy was i WRONG. One fun day activity, involved all of the boys to go fishing to catch dinner (which mind you was what i voted for doing but was quickly out voted by all of the boys) and the girls to go horse back riding. This was where the traumatic times begin. I have never been so horrified in my life. Here i am, like 6 years old, riding this HUGE horse, straight up some random mountain. I hated my life that day. Oh and not only was it musty, hot, and raining im sure, that damn horse wouldn't listen to a word i was saying or single signal i was putting out. It just did whatever it wanted to do, probably knowing full-well that i would NEVER ride a horse again. Well it was right. I'm still nervous around horses. Thanks dumb pony. All i wanted to do was go fishing.
Ok, so then it gets even better. The next days activity was to go white-water-rafting. Baha. Could you see MY parents, with me in the middle of a CANOE that was definitely not suitable for this type of adventure? Whoever said that was a good idea probably got a good laugh out of it. I, however, did not. I screamed the whole time, got all wet, and then we proceeded to get stuck in some tree hanging over the side into the river. Oh. My. Gah. really, parents, really? Never again. I wish Jon and Kate had been around when i was little so my Family Clan could have seen that and camped in our backyard instead of the middle of God-knows-where. Maybe to this day i would be able to ride horses and enjoy camping/canoing (which i think is spelled wrong, but i cant figure it out..). We'll never know :)
Im off to study, then dinner! Hugs and Kisses everyone!!

Guess I'll have to get a new TV?
good afternoon world! i dont have much time to chat but i just wanted to put a few things out on the table:
1. thanks mariann for the package!! i got it today and its great! im already wearing the pjs!
2. still havent seen any signs of the hurricanes here in Fort Worth yet.
3. Have you heard that the new one is named Hannah?! wahoo! (well im not sure if thats a good thing or bad...i guess if youre the track of the storm then it might be bad, but it kinda makes me smile to hear my name on the news so much. even if it is spelled wrong.)
4. i almost threw my tv out the window last night, and i think you all know why.
5. i got a job today! i will be the newest employee of Samuelson dorm building. if you have any questions or want to send a package to some random kid in that building then im the one you need! i will be starting on Monday and working Mondays and Thursdays from 3-7pm. I'm a working girl now! :)
Other than that, nothing is new. classes are going pretty well even though they are getting busy. I miss you all and cant wait to see everyone!
So now here is what you all have been waiting for; a little revisit to number 4 on my list. Hm. where to begin? well let me just say this. I didnt really love her (and by love her i mean i couldnt stand her by ANY MEANS) prior to last night's speech but after that, woah. i dont even know how to describe my feelings. i have never been so angry at someone i dont even know that i was actually sort of embarrassed at the fact of my rage. Here's why:
ok, so the National Convention is supposed to be the time in which the person(s) that has been chosen by the people to represent their party accepts the nomination and gives a great speech about how you should vote for them and blah blah blah. its supposed to be a time for introducing yourself to the world as well as your family, spouse, what have you. also, it is the time for you to discuss what you and your running mate are going to do if elected and how great your term will be. Sarah Palin did these things but did alot more. Alot more things i could never see a woman (or man for that matter) doing when running for such a high position. The woman is one 72 year old heart beat away from the most influential person in our government and she spent 2/3 of her speech bashing Obama. Now it doesnt matter what party you are for, democratic or republican, but from my point of view, i would much rather have someone who takes the high road and puts themselves up higher than bashing every one around them. I was completely appalled and embarrassed for her that she said some (actually alot) of the things she said that were condescending to not only Obama and Biden, but to the people of this country. I could never in a million years be one of those women who stood around holding up a "Hockey Moms for Palin" sign and be proud of myself. Really Sarah, really? Take the high road.
But thats my rant for today. Im sure theres more but my brain is just so jumbled that i cant even remember all of the things that went on. If you are a Palin supporter, im terribly sorry but i just had to get it out there haha. i promise that this is the end of my rants...for now :)
good, positive, happy things to come!! love you all!

Good friends just dont let you choose dumb running mates!
I know, I know. its been 7 months since i wrote on this thing but i figured now that I'm back and school and everything is sorta starting to fall into place and i have a regular schedule again, i would write on this thing. and with all of the big to-do going on in the news these days, i figured i should get my two-cents in this busy blogging world. so here it goes. a quick, little "catch-up" if you will:
1. I'm back at TCU for my sophomore year (my third semester as a Speech-Language Pathology major)
2. I have a new dorm (pictures to come)--i just got my bedding in the mail today and it is in the washing machine as we speak. so, as soon as its done, ill put it on and take some pictures!
3. I have 3 other roommates. I know that is an odd thing to have while still living on campus in dorms but you know TCU (well you may not but..), always ahead of the curve. I live in a room with my old roommate from last year, a girl that lived across the hall from us last year, and another girl who is new to the mix. We all have our own bedrooms with FULL SIZE beds (no more awkward twin beds for this college girl!), where we share two bathrooms and a living room. This building is so great. i mean they clean the bathrooms once a week for us, for goodness sake. could it get any better?!
4. I made it through my first summer back at home since going to college. You know how when you graduate from high school and they say all that about how you better live it up that summer because you are going to lose friends from high school and things will never be the same? bullshit. i was closer with my friends and family this summer than i EVER have been. high five summer '08!
5. Barack is still the shit.
6. rainboots still kick ass.
7. all of my favorite shows are back this week! well not all of them, but a good portion.
8. Jon and Kate Plus 8 is still on the air and will probably be on well into Barack's 2nd term :)
Hm...other than that, nothing is new.
Oh wait, that whole Sarah Palin mess. Really McCain, REALLY?!! What in god's name were you thinking? Sometimes i feel like he stands around in the mirror at home and practices his ideas for campaigning and then high fives him self. He must not have any true friends...good friends dont let you pick dumbass running mates. I betcha if McCain had Oreo in his tooth none of his so called "friends" would even tell him. What kind of people are these advisors? Ugh. I was doing a little research on this whole Palin family and found her precious little daughter posted up on some website boozing it up. Isn't she pregnant? hm...good call momma Palin. Notes to you parents out there from my perspective, ask your kids what they're doing. If they say "well mom, drinking and having unplanned babies," DONT RUN FOR VICE PRESIDENT! I mean its just a suggestion. I feel like she needs to get her fam back under control before she decides to be one step away from the most influential person in government. And another thing, you know how i feel about kids. Not only just kids in general, but kids with special needs. they are amazing, hands down. But, i know for a fact that I would much rather spend my time with my new born special needs child and with the one my daughter has on the way than be posted up at the white house, doing god knows what and staring at the wall pretending to fix things. But i guess, once again, thats just me. you are all entitled to your own opinion, but research it first before deciding. Dont just watch Fox news (which is where you went wrong) and do what they do. read up on your picks. you still have a little time before the big day. so get with it!
its good to be back! and i'll keep on writing! much love from tejas!
xoxo

When in Rome.
well hello all..happy sunday.
So i am sitting here avoiding at all cost my homework for tomorrow, which i know i am going to regret come midnight tonight and i am still working on it. Oh well. When in Rome...whatever that means.
Heres all things new i know:
1. I'm coming to Paducah in April for Ben and Erin's Wedding! yay!!
2. I am moving to my new dorm room tonight/tomorrow. (and to clarify what happend and why i am moving AGAIN--my new roommate that i was going to have for this semester dropped out of school two days after christmas break and moved back home. bummer. so now i am moving down the hall to a new room. whew! luckily i have awesome new luggage to aid the move! thanks mom dad and mariann!!)
3. I am looking for a summer gig. I love kids as all of you know and i want to do something new and fun for the summer. I'm going to apply at the Parks Department for their summer program and hopefully find something else on top of that. Any leads?
4. All of my classes are going pretty great. I havent had any tests yet...One to come on Friday in my Sign Language Class, so hopefully that will go good. Cross your fingers for a 100!
5. I saw a commerical for a new show on TLC about a family that has sextuplets also---Just like Jon and Kate plus 8 except their kids are about to start preschool, so look for that on your local listings!
6. Ellen Degeneres turned 50.
7. Britney is still crazy.
8. I tried to win something on ebay but i just kept getting out bid and i just kept uping my bid only to win...i dont think i really wanted it that much but something about winning it from that jerk who kept out bidding me was satisfying. i hated them. They won.
9. I went to the bookstore...now im just looking for things to talk about...how embarrasing. It was pretty much the high light of my day.
10. I tried to make myself eat a salad today for lunch. It didnt go so well. So heres what happened: I went to the Main(where we eat on campus) and went to the little salad bar. I filled my box with lettuce (this is where it went wrong) and covered it in toppings and Ranch dressing. TOOOOO much Ranch. I had like two bites and almost threw up 12 times. I just couldnt do it. So i had cereal instead. At least i tried, right?
Well i think that is about it for now...nothing new is happening. It was a really sunny, BEAUTIFUL day here. Like spring time! I sat outside for a while but then got bored and wondered what the hell i was doing. It was fun while it lasted.
Good Day All...let me know whats happening with you! xoxox

save the last dance for me..do do do dododo..
as i sit and type i am cranking the tunes in my lonely (it gets pretty lonely without a roommate) room. No its not Britney Spears or T-Pain, its the most amazing man i have ever seen/heard. The one and only MICHAEL BUBLE!!!! This is a plus of living alone--i can listen to my "makes me feel sophistacted" tunes without any objections or my parents hiding the CD's which did actually happen cause i played them too much. Oh how i love you Michael.
In the course of my life there are 4 people i want to meet/see/but meet. 1. Stevie Wonder, 2. Bill Cosby, 3. Michael Buble, 4. Harry Connick, Jr. I have seen Bill Cosby in "concert" and Michael, my love, in concert(which was AMAZING!) but i just sit and do a little listening to Talking Book...the yellow CD...and dream of meeting my Stevie. As for you Harry, I guess P.S. I Love you will have to do until i get to see you. Hopefully one day!
Well I am just doing a little hanging out here waiting to go to my class in about 20 minutes. My first and only class of my Thursday, Survey of Jazz and Pop. I like it so far. I learned about some new jazz musicians from waaay back that i hadnt ever heard of: Robert Johnson and Bessie Smith...great songs! Sometimes i think i was born in the wrong time period. We all know how much i love Frank Sinatra. My mom told me that i love this music because i was OBSESSED with The Cosby Show...still kind of am...and they always played this stuff. Thanks Bill!
Gotta go to class now but i'll write again later! We have to talk about AMERICAN IDOL FEVER! Dont forget: Ugly Betty is new tonight! no Grey's though... :(
we'll chat soon!
Oh and im sure you all know about Heath Ledger by now...We'll miss you Heath!

I'm FINALLY back!!
OMG i am soooooo sorry that i havent posted on here in forever. I am back at school and things have been crazy: i.e. my new roommate dropped out of school, i had to re-organize my room, those things they call classes, study, laundry, etc. WHEW! busy.
So i am turning over a new leaf. New postings as often as possible. (im going to try and do it daily :))
Well heres a little updat of this past week.
Monday--1st day of the new semester.
11 am: Sign Language. I absolutely LOVE this class. It is so great and i get so excited when it is times to go!
2 pm: Elementary Statistics. Well, its not too bad yet. Check back for the complaining about that one lol.
6:30 pm: Intro to Criminal Justice. This class is really fun so far. I have only been once but its great so far. My professor is super nice and its like a story in class form.
Tuesday--
2pm: Thats right my first and only class of the day. yay! But its Survey of Jazz and Pop and i like it pretty much. Its not too boring. I'd give it a 7 on the scale.
As for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, classes are the same and things have been kinda boring around here.
Well heres my little info for the day. I'm hoping that you all watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 tonight. It was great as always. and also today, while i should have been doing more laundry, i watched a marathon on families that have 12 or more kids. could you imagine!??
It made me get to thinking how much i miss my family and i love y'all so much! kisses!! --so there is my sappy moment for the day lol.
