When in Rome.

well hello all..happy sunday.

So i am sitting here avoiding at all cost my homework for tomorrow, which i know i am going to regret come midnight tonight and i am still working on it. Oh well. When in Rome...whatever that means.

Heres all things new i know:
1. I'm coming to Paducah in April for Ben and Erin's Wedding! yay!!
2. I am moving to my new dorm room tonight/tomorrow. (and to clarify what happend and why i am moving AGAIN--my new roommate that i was going to have for this semester dropped out of school two days after christmas break and moved back home. bummer. so now i am moving down the hall to a new room. whew! luckily i have awesome new luggage to aid the move! thanks mom dad and mariann!!)
3. I am looking for a summer gig. I love kids as all of you know and i want to do something new and fun for the summer. I'm going to apply at the Parks Department for their summer program and hopefully find something else on top of that. Any leads?
4. All of my classes are going pretty great. I havent had any tests yet...One to come on Friday in my Sign Language Class, so hopefully that will go good. Cross your fingers for a 100!
5. I saw a commerical for a new show on TLC about a family that has sextuplets also---Just like Jon and Kate plus 8 except their kids are about to start preschool, so look for that on your local listings!
6. Ellen Degeneres turned 50.
7. Britney is still crazy.
8. I tried to win something on ebay but i just kept getting out bid and i just kept uping my bid only to win...i dont think i really wanted it that much but something about winning it from that jerk who kept out bidding me was satisfying. i hated them. They won.
9. I went to the bookstore...now im just looking for things to talk about...how embarrasing. It was pretty much the high light of my day.
10. I tried to make myself eat a salad today for lunch. It didnt go so well. So heres what happened: I went to the Main(where we eat on campus) and went to the little salad bar. I filled my box with lettuce (this is where it went wrong) and covered it in toppings and Ranch dressing. TOOOOO much Ranch. I had like two bites and almost threw up 12 times. I just couldnt do it. So i had cereal instead. At least i tried, right?

Well i think that is about it for now...nothing new is happening. It was a really sunny, BEAUTIFUL day here. Like spring time! I sat outside for a while but then got bored and wondered what the hell i was doing. It was fun while it lasted.

Good Day All...let me know whats happening with you! xoxox

save the last dance for me..do do do dododo..

as i sit and type i am cranking the tunes in my lonely (it gets pretty lonely without a roommate) room. No its not Britney Spears or T-Pain, its the most amazing man i have ever seen/heard. The one and only MICHAEL BUBLE!!!! This is a plus of living alone--i can listen to my "makes me feel sophistacted" tunes without any objections or my parents hiding the CD's which did actually happen cause i played them too much. Oh how i love you Michael.
In the course of my life there are 4 people i want to meet/see/but meet. 1. Stevie Wonder, 2. Bill Cosby, 3. Michael Buble, 4. Harry Connick, Jr. I have seen Bill Cosby in "concert" and Michael, my love, in concert(which was AMAZING!) but i just sit and do a little listening to Talking Book...the yellow CD...and dream of meeting my Stevie. As for you Harry, I guess P.S. I Love you will have to do until i get to see you. Hopefully one day!

Well I am just doing a little hanging out here waiting to go to my class in about 20 minutes. My first and only class of my Thursday, Survey of Jazz and Pop. I like it so far. I learned about some new jazz musicians from waaay back that i hadnt ever heard of: Robert Johnson and Bessie Smith...great songs! Sometimes i think i was born in the wrong time period. We all know how much i love Frank Sinatra. My mom told me that i love this music because i was OBSESSED with The Cosby Show...still kind of am...and they always played this stuff. Thanks Bill!

Gotta go to class now but i'll write again later! We have to talk about AMERICAN IDOL FEVER! Dont forget: Ugly Betty is new tonight! no Grey's though... :(

we'll chat soon!

Oh and im sure you all know about Heath Ledger by now...We'll miss you Heath!

I'm FINALLY back!!

OMG i am soooooo sorry that i havent posted on here in forever. I am back at school and things have been crazy: i.e. my new roommate dropped out of school, i had to re-organize my room, those things they call classes, study, laundry, etc. WHEW! busy.

So i am turning over a new leaf. New postings as often as possible. (im going to try and do it daily :))

Well heres a little updat of this past week.

Monday--1st day of the new semester.
11 am: Sign Language. I absolutely LOVE this class. It is so great and i get so excited when it is times to go!
2 pm: Elementary Statistics. Well, its not too bad yet. Check back for the complaining about that one lol.
6:30 pm: Intro to Criminal Justice. This class is really fun so far. I have only been once but its great so far. My professor is super nice and its like a story in class form.
Tuesday--
2pm: Thats right my first and only class of the day. yay! But its Survey of Jazz and Pop and i like it pretty much. Its not too boring. I'd give it a 7 on the scale.
As for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, classes are the same and things have been kinda boring around here.

Well heres my little info for the day. I'm hoping that you all watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 tonight. It was great as always. and also today, while i should have been doing more laundry, i watched a marathon on families that have 12 or more kids. could you imagine!?? It made me get to thinking how much i miss my family and i love y'all so much! kisses!! --so there is my sappy moment for the day lol. I am trying to post pictures on this page of my new room but its being annoying and i cant get it to work...tomorrow for sure though. Dont forget to watch American Idol tomorrow night (for alot of you reading this it will be tonight) at 7 pm. cant wait!! More to come tomorrow!! Dont forget to drink lots of water and eat your vegetables. Just thought i would remind you.

AND Happy MLK day! We salute you Rev!

wtf is a PET bottle?

yes yes, i am aware what day of the week it is and when my last post was. Sorry, i have actually had stuff to do these last few days and didn't know what to do with myself! I have actually been busy in this town...a new concept i have learned this week. So heres a little recap from the past few days:

  • ALOT of babysitting, which i wouldn't trade for the world! I have missed all my many kids so much since I've been gone!

  • I had to take Holly (our adorable but sometimes VERY bad weimaraner) because she has a bad sore on her foot...poor holly...or as my dad likes to spell it (and trust me we really did have this conversation) HOLLEY. who cares....

  • I mailed my christmas present from my brother to my school address...my very own TIVO!

  • Went to lunch with my mommy.

  • Got my hair cut and my nails done! (a little thing i love to do and miss oh so much...love you DEE!)

  • Pretended to start my laundry....i washed one load. it was the thought that counted, right?

  • Went to Dairy Queen with one of my good friends from high school who i ABSOLUTELY LOVE who has Autism. that was probably my favorite part of my week!

  • Maybe took a nap...just maybe

But, other than that, i have done nothing. Nothing to stimulate the 'ole thinker machine (aka brain) or anything like that. But i did find a few interested things via my brother, Ellen DeGeneres, and the world wide web. First off, Nick sent me this link to these two musicians that i am assuming he heard about through a pod cast (I'm not really sure what the means exactly or how it works but that can be next years resolution) and they are amazing--one of them imparticular. JASON MOSS--www.jasonmossmusic.com--is a 15 year old musician who is from California and his songs are wonderful! FIFTEEN years old! I'm pretty sure when you are 15 you are supposed to be really awkward, go to the movies with anyone other than your parents and smell weird. i couldn't imagine being a musician who has an album coming out and being an Internet sensation. whew! Here's a little song by him. Take two minutes and listen to it. DEFINITELY worth it. (your welcome) ...remember this: he plays all the instruments and is a one-man-band. yeah hes that good...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uKTW1i0hGf8

So tonight is my last Friday night it good ole P-Town...too bad. Now that may sound a little sarcastic but i am going to miss this place for a while--that is until i am stuck here allll summer. (if anyone needs an over summer nanny just hit me up!) I will miss my fam, my dogs, home cooked meals, sleeping in, having absolutley no responsibilites, and wearing my pjs all day long. I guess thats a few more things that i thought. huh.

So as for the title of this post heres the back story: Micah bought V8 (the veggies drink that a person really only uses for bloodmary(s), duh) while she still lived here and some how we ended up with it in the divorce (well not REALLY a divorce, just the move to the panhandle). So, no one really drank it and knowing how my mother is, she just couldnt give it away because someone may end up drinking it 3 years from now, so Mariann ended up with it. (lucky you mariann) Looking at the label, it says "V8--12 fl.oz PET Bottles" Gasping, we just didnt know if it was a mistake and we had been drinking dog juice all this time. I checked the V8 website and this PET business was no where to be found. So if in your bloodymary experiences in past years you have encountered this mystery, fill me in so we dont end up with dog germs.

Mom throw away the salad dressings for Gods Sake.

Well thats about all i know for now. I hope you all TIVO-ed Psych, NUMB3RS, How to Look Good Naked, and Las Vegas. We can chat about it tomorrow. I'm off to pretend to do more laundry and watch my shows.

Kiss Kiss!

TGFT...i think we all know what that means

T: thank
G: God
F: for
T: TIVO I mean seriously, water, food, shelter, and TIVO. It should be given out to the needy. It should just come with a house when you by one. Have a babyshower to go to? Give them a TIVO. Wedding? TIVO. WHEN IN DOUBT ASK YOUR TIVO!

Not only does my household have 3 (well 4 because one of them is a dual-tuner--which by the way is the best thing since sliced bread), one of which is being mailed to my dorm room this week because i almost died this last semester without one, BUT i just couldn't imagine life without it. Not convinced? Just think, you don't have to watch anymore commericals (that would do it for me), you don't have to be home when your favorite shows are on and you can still keep up with all the hot new sitcoms and be ready for the small talk at lunch. If you dont have one PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your self a favor and get one.

Well enough of my marketing (which, by the way, i should really get some commission for). The reason i bring this TIVO business up is simply for the fact of the amazing amount of tv that has been/will be on this week. You see, with this whole studying that kinda gets in the way, i didn't get to watch a lot of my favorite shows, therefore i am making up for lost time. So, here is my personal opinion on what you should set a season pass for (that's TIVO lingo for record all the episodes that are aired). Here it goes:

Monday--
  • American Gladiators!!!--7pm on NBC (yes, that's right, THE American gladiators. so the hours i spent watching this show in the summer time with my brother and then all the times he spent practicing for his audition on me...that's another story to come later)
  • Jon and Kate plus 8--8 pm on TLC (i absolutely LOVE this show. Its about a couple who are hilarious that have a set of 7 year old twin girls and then sextuplets--that's six kids at one time in case you cant do the math--that are 3 years old. COULD YOU IMAGINE?! that's like living at a daycare. its hilarious and i watch it all the time. You'll love it)
  • Prison Break--7pm on FOX (this is where the dual tuner comes in handy) (omg I LOVE this show! i have this weird obsession with prisons--i never want to end up there or anything, theres just something intriguing about watching about the big house. the clink. the shoe. oh and Wentworth Miller is AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS. if you don't know him, go ahead and google it. you'll thank me you did.)

Tuesday--

  • ONE TREE HILL!!!--7 pm on The CW (AHHHH!!! im sooo excited! i cant wait! it starts tomorrow night!...sorry i just had a small spell. But it is pretty good haha)

  • Law and Order SVU--9 pm on NBC (this is pretty much my, hands down, favorite show of all time. Oh detective Stabler, yum.)

Wednesday--

  • Gossip Girl--8 pm on The CW (this show may not be for everyone, but as for me and the majority of the girls in America, we live for this show. Hot boys, gorgeous clothes, and the lives we all wish we had. What more could you want)

  • Law and Order--9 pm on NBC (i grew up on this show and still am in love with it. The new season just started last week so hurry! and that detective Greene is just amazing. He can act, save lives, and sing in RENT all at the same time!)

Thursday-- (a big night for the tube)

  • Ugly Betty--7pm on ABC (oh betty. shes so nerdy but oh so loveable. this show is jammed pack with humor, love, fashion, and drama. i just cant get enough. and luckily they saved her dad. dedicated fans will know what i am talking about.

  • Grey's Anatomy--8pm on ABC (McDreamy. McSteamy. McHotDoctors.)

  • ER--9pm on NBC (oh you know about this one. i STILL love it!)

Friday--(this whole shows thing turned out to be waaayyy to long...oops)

  • Psych--8pm on USA (if you only start one new show this season, make it be this one. This is probably one of the funniest shows out there and i just cant get enough of it. Two "psychics" help out the LA police department in the solving of murder cases and it is one of the funniest shows i have ever watched. check it out for sure.
  • Miss America Reality Check--9pm on TLC (if only watched one episode so far but it was pretty good. its a revamping of the tradional miss america with a little help from the gay guy from Ugly Betty. It has potential.)

  • How to Look Good Naked--8pm on Lifetime (inspirational for all kinds of women out there and is still funny! How to feel good about yourself with some help from Carson from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.)

Ok so i think that is about it. Im sure most of you didnt make it all the way through and therefore there are probably 2 people reading this: 1. My mother (thanks mom) and 2. Micah because she doesnt work temporarly (if you know anyone in Florida who needs a middle school teacher, let me know--thanks micah) But anyway, hope this mini TV Guide helps you out. I know that none of you have as much time on your hands as i do, but i have to occupy my time somehow. You think its bad that i knew all these times and channels off the top of my head? naw... Have an amzing day today and dont forget: One Tree Hill premerie tonight and Law and Order:SVU!)

oh and happy birthday GREER!!

So there was this Whale...

The walk down memory lane as i promised:

A couple of weeks into my first semester of college, i began to feel the stress of my classes. I had signed up for this Religion course (trust me i wouldn't have unless it was required) and could tell i was rapidly falling between the cracks. My professor, who shall remain anonymous, is what ratemyprofessor.com said to be a short and stocky man in his 40s that could bench press that of a small elephant. The "not-so-dependable" website also informed me that he played football for U of L and held some record for some thing that no one really actually cares about (well except him and maybe football fans..). Just so you know, that whole football thing was a COMPLETE lie, i asked. So after spending some quality time with JM the professor, i came to realize that I wasn't going to make it out of this class without some serious assistance. That's where my sunday-school teacher of a dad comes into play. We were given a quiz to be taken online (once again, here you are you damn technology) and so i construed a way to cheat of course--ok not so much cheating just ASSISTING my lack of knowledge, because cheating is a no-go in big kid school. Right before the test i decided to give my dad a little jingle and get a little story back ground. (oh, by the way, our quiz was going to be over the entire life of Job. Dont feel bad if you dont know it, apparently there is some underground cult and all of its members just KNOW alllll of these stories...72% of my religion class knew them and i put up a good front...till grades came). So after doing the "hello, hows college, hows the roommate, grades" chit chat with the pops, i went in for the real reason i called--tell me the answers to the story of Job so i dont actually have to read it. This is how it went:

Hannah: "So dad, tell me all you know about Job."

Dad: "Hmmm...let me recall that one."

Hannah: (patiently waiting)....

Dad: "Ah, yes. Job. He was a fine guy. Did alot of great things."

Hannah: "Really?! Great, tell me about him."

Dad: "Well you see, it all started with this gigantic WHALE. One day, Job gets eaten by this whale and then he is inside...."

Hannah: "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! A WHALE?!??! DAD, THATS JONAH!!!!"

Dad: "Um, I think I know my bible stories. Calm down, this is right."

Hannah: "I'm pretty sure I'm screwed for this quiz...

So, you see, the lesson i learned from this outcome is:

Do the readings, THEN call you parents--for money, not homework help. :)

Goodmorning rainyday...

So i can tell this blogging business is going to take over my life. I wake up and couldn't WAIT to check to see if i have been approved the judges of my cyber jury. Good news! All is good so far!

Along with my early rising today...early, haha yah right try 12:15 pm...i was greeted by the rain. Aww, how sad, no one loves a rainy day--well unless you can stay home and curl up on the couch and watch a Law and Order SVU marathon, eat Bon-Bons, and quote that deep man's voice at the beginning of every episode ("In the Criminal Justice System, Sexually Based Offenses...."). So what to do today? Well my mom is off getting her hair cut/colored (not that she needs the color! lol) and i stay around here putting off showering as long as possible. I've heard that this college business does this to you--changes your priorities in life, so basically its a good excuses not to shower. Well i do know one thing that i am going to do today, I AM going to wear my rain boots. My purple polka dotted beauties! I wear these boots with pride, (similar to the cute little boy on Big Daddy that wears his "makes-me-invisible" glasses), a pride that is similar to wearing a little coat of armor. If i ever become the president, or an advisor to him/her, my first act of duty will be to require all important personnel to wear rain boots. Couldnt you just imagine walking into to the White House and seeing everyone wearing polka dotted boots (their own color preferce of course!) and wouldnt your face just light up! Not only do they give you confidence and personal power to make good, clear decisions, they are just plain adorable and make everyone smile! It doesnt have to be a rainy day to wear them, just a day that needs a little more sunshine. So do yourself a favor, get on target.com, get a head of the fashion curve, and treat yourself to a little rainy day indulgence.

A little walk down memory lane to come later. GOTTA GO SHOWER, I've waited to long and now i must rush! :)

xoxo,

Palindrome

Welcome to the World you YUCKY LETTUCE

Well as we all are aware, I am not what you would call "Technologically Savvy" in the eyes of you moderners. Yes, you may be saying to yourself "Self, isn't Hannah a newly educated college student at a wonderfully pristine college in the great state of Texas?! Shouldn't she be right there with the best of 'em doing all those fancy computer things kids these days do?" Although I could text at 300 word paper on my tiny little keypad of a cell phone in a matter of seconds, (ok maybe not seconds, but you get what i mean) I am just NOW getting with the times as far as Blogging goes.

A smart lady once told me when i went away to college that i should start a blog to keep in touch with all of my Paducahians, Paducahans, Paducahens???...well whatever we are...you know me, always ahead of the curve, so i am just now getting to it. Welcome to the 2008 journal of my life.

This blog will now be my logical excuse for not do the important things in my life i know i should be doing. Whether that be studying, laundry, cleaning, or what have you, I now have a decent excuse to tell my parentals as to why I didn't bring home a 4.0 gpa on my report card (which APPARENTLY you dont get at college...once again all on the net. They forget to tell you some things at the so-called "wonderful intro college junk" they make you attend). So, what i am trying to say is, this is my small contribution to the cyber world out there--a little piece of me--Palindromes Don't Do Lettuce.

For those of you who are wondering "what in the world is a Palindrome??" its such an easy explanation. Take it Websters:

n: a word, verse, or sentence (as “Able was I ere I saw Elba”) or a number (as 1881) that reads the same backward or forward

So there you have it. Palindrome, like HANNAH (or Radar or Kayak..) is just a little vocab word i picked up along the way, and boy is it a good convo starter. try it out. it makes you look intelligent. OH and as for the no lettuce situation, I DON'T DO LETTUCE. Not on sandwiches, no salad is ever going in this mouth, not covered in dressing and smothered with chicken, croutons, and other irresistible toppings commonly found to disguise its disgusting taste. Nope not going to happen. Don't ask me why and don't say it doesn't have a taste. I can taste that yucky green junk from a mile away...

So anyway, as i pondered what i should write about for my first wall post, because as we all know, it must be a good one if not the best and I must set the bar high for a wall posts to come, i considered a few ideas.

1. my crazy, yet hilarious fam (def look out for this to come eventually)
2. Iowa Caucus
3. how amazing the season premiere of Law and Order was :)
4. the amazing way you can send off your life long possesions of anything GOLD to this company i saw on tv and get money instintly (this sounds bad...)
5. or this vegetable bag that keeps veggies fresh for up to 30 DAYS! (ya, i have A LOT of free time...)

But, i just knew none of these were going to set the tone for my new and upcoming blog. So who else to talk about when times are low and the world needs a little help? Not our "charming" president (and i use the term charming VERY VERY loosely) or world leader or Martha Stewart, but none other than Britney Spears. Nothing better than to wake up in the morning and click over to CNN to check up on what happened while you caught some zzz's and in turn find none other than America's sluttiest, favoritest pop musical icon plastered on the screen. I figured that
she is the most important and talked about woman in history (well...that may or may not be a total fabrication) and in order for people to read my blog i have to talk about her. She knows something i don't know so I'll take her word for it. I may not exactly know what a caucus really is, or who won for that matter, but i sure as hell know what is going on in the life of America's sweetheart. I mean really look at that genuine smile and radiant hair...who cant just love her to death. Britney, I dont care if you are locked up for a 72 hour psycho watch in an LA hospitial, you'll bounce back! Screw the war in Iraq and who's running for President! I've got Britney Fever!!

in the words of an adorable 5 year old little girl: "Goodnight, sleep tight, dont let the Bed Bugs Bite, You got that Right." (thanks for reading!)
