Guess I'll have to get a new TV?

good afternoon world! i dont have much time to chat but i just wanted to put a few things out on the table:
1. thanks mariann for the package!! i got it today and its great! im already wearing the pjs!
2. still havent seen any signs of the hurricanes here in Fort Worth yet.
3. Have you heard that the new one is named Hannah?! wahoo! (well im not sure if thats a good thing or bad...i guess if youre the track of the storm then it might be bad, but it kinda makes me smile to hear my name on the news so much. even if it is spelled wrong.)
4. i almost threw my tv out the window last night, and i think you all know why.
5. i got a job today! i will be the newest employee of Samuelson dorm building. if you have any questions or want to send a package to some random kid in that building then im the one you need! i will be starting on Monday and working Mondays and Thursdays from 3-7pm. I'm a working girl now! :)

Other than that, nothing is new. classes are going pretty well even though they are getting busy. I miss you all and cant wait to see everyone!

So now here is what you all have been waiting for; a little revisit to number 4 on my list. Hm. where to begin? well let me just say this. I didnt really love her (and by love her i mean i couldnt stand her by ANY MEANS) prior to last night's speech but after that, woah. i dont even know how to describe my feelings. i have never been so angry at someone i dont even know that i was actually sort of embarrassed at the fact of my rage. Here's why:

ok, so the National Convention is supposed to be the time in which the person(s) that has been chosen by the people to represent their party accepts the nomination and gives a great speech about how you should vote for them and blah blah blah. its supposed to be a time for introducing yourself to the world as well as your family, spouse, what have you. also, it is the time for you to discuss what you and your running mate are going to do if elected and how great your term will be. Sarah Palin did these things but did alot more. Alot more things i could never see a woman (or man for that matter) doing when running for such a high position. The woman is one 72 year old heart beat away from the most influential person in our government and she spent 2/3 of her speech bashing Obama. Now it doesnt matter what party you are for, democratic or republican, but from my point of view, i would much rather have someone who takes the high road and puts themselves up higher than bashing every one around them. I was completely appalled and embarrassed for her that she said some (actually alot) of the things she said that were condescending to not only Obama and Biden, but to the people of this country. I could never in a million years be one of those women who stood around holding up a "Hockey Moms for Palin" sign and be proud of myself. Really Sarah, really? Take the high road.

But thats my rant for today. Im sure theres more but my brain is just so jumbled that i cant even remember all of the things that went on. If you are a Palin supporter, im terribly sorry but i just had to get it out there haha. i promise that this is the end of my rants...for now :)

good, positive, happy things to come!! love you all!

Girl, did you really just say you almost "through" your TV out the window? Mrs. Thompson would KILL you if she saw that! :) Seriously though, I'm so glad to see you back to the blog!
